R/C vintage OS Max four stroke engine FS-40 for model airplanes new in box. A truly beautiful engine that is definitely one of my best collection engines have bought it brand new at 1988 from a famous hobby shop in Athens and soon later ordered its bigger sister the FS-61, will not say much about whether I have succeeded in preserving its fine original quality you can be the objective judge as I include 12 detailed photos and hoping you will enjoy them! The engine is preserved just about in near perfect condition inside and out only slight flaw is a discoloration of the finish on an area of the crankcase bottom but this is just as the engine came out of the factory so is not really a disadvantage to its original quality goes to show that not even the famous Japanese OS factory was 100% perfect! Regardless of that I fully recommend this beautiful engine to dedicated collectors as it is a pride and joy just to see up close. The box itself has seen some slight wear over the years or decades! There is an interesting personal story about this engine, hope youll enjoy reading. It arrived at the local post office in about ten days after my order, when I got the notice to collect it I was totally excited was just an enthusiastic boy then! And planned to go pick it up right the next day, but the weather turned bad during the night approaching Christmas time! And I awoke to see everything covered in deep snow. Everything was immobilized including my dads car and public bus transportation so I was only left with the choice of walking to pick it up, the Post office was about a half hour walking distance away in normal conditions in this freezing weather took about an hour to go and even longer on the way back as I was getting stiff and tired from the cold and an injured knee from a recent accident with my bicycle! Needless to say it was quite an adventure but my enthusiasm finally overcame all obstacles, when I got home I slowly opened my precious package with still shivering hands! And lo and behold this was one of the most beautiful engines that my young eyes ever saw and worth every hard step of the way to get it! That night I went to sleep thinking I was maybe the happiest man in the world! Sincerely hope you will be just as happy when you collect it!
